Giving Tuesday is the antidote to the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a time to celebrate charitable acts rather than shopping. Giving rather than spending.
This year Girls on the Run joins in the global Giving Tuesday movement to draw attention to the ways people can and do give to our organization. Whether you give your time, your dollars or your word of mouth to Girls on the Run, we invite you to help us celebrate Giving Tuesday by sharing how and why you give.
Have you taken a moment to read a story we’ve posted on this blog or to share a link we’ve showcased on our Facebook page? Are you a Girls on the Run Coach, volunteer, parent or donor (or all of the above)? Together we can showcase the generosity that keeps Girls on the Run thriving, and perhaps this will inspire others to get involved!
Here’s what we ask:
2. Whenever you see a #GiveGOTR post or tweet, be sure to like, favorite, share or retweet it! Let’s see how far we can spread the celebration!
3. Thank and tag. Do you know someone else who gives their time, dollars or voice to Girls on the Run? Thank and tag them in a post.
By posting, tagging and sharing throughout the day—using the hashtag #GiveGOTR—the campaign will generate a cascade of endorsements and inspiration!
Remarkable! is 3-months old! In that time we’ve posted more than 35 stories and gotten lots of positive feedback from thoughtful readers like you. For your reading pleasure, here are the three stories people have read and shared the most so far:
