Each year, we recognize a Girls on the Run alumna who is embracing joy, health and confidence in her life. We are now accepting entries for the annual Wondergirl Award through October 31!
Cammy Nelson is our current Wondergirl Award winner. Cammy is now a health and wellness speaker who also pays her Girls on the Run experience forward by volunteering with her local Girls on the Run council. Recently, we asked Cammy to share some perspective on her Girls on the Run experience.
Q: What is your favorite memory of Girls on the Run?
Cammy: My favorite Girls on the Run memory is from being a coach! I love being goofy with the girls, seeing their faces light up with excitement when they reach a new goal, and listening to the support they share with each other as they grow into a team.
Q: What is the most valuable lesson you learned from Girls on the Run?
Cammy: Always, always, always believe in yourself.
Q: How do you activate your limitless potential?
Cammy: I activate my limitless potential by following what scares me. If I know I'm a little afraid of a dream I have, I know it's the right one to follow. New experiences and challenges help us grow!
Q: Why do you want to stay involved with Girls on the Run today?
Cammy: Why wouldn't I? I'll take every chance I can get to stay involved in such a fun, inspiring, motivating, and AWEsome program where girls learn to see the sky as the limit!
Could you be our next Wondergirl? Do you know a Girls on the Run alumna who should be in the running? We're accepting enteries through October 31 for our 2014 Wondergirl Award! Click here to learn more.
