You can make an impact and raise money for Girls on the Run using the GOTR Giving Platform! Engage your network of friends and family to give to Girls on the Run by creating your own fundraising project or give to support an existing project.
Here are just a few of our favorite projects on the GOTR Giving Platform right now – one in each of the four categories available.
SoleMates – Fundraise as you train for an athletic event.
Reese and Olivia, GOTR girls from Girls on the Run of Collier County in Florida, have a SoleMates project on the GOTR Giving Platform for the junior triathlon they are doing this month, and the girls have already exceeded their fundraising goal! “We like Girls on the Run because it teaches you how to be kind to others and reach for your goals,” they say. Way to go, girls!
Celebrations – Request donations as gifts for your birthday, wedding or any other occasion.
In celebration of 45 years of unleashing her own limitless potential, Kimberly Rivera, Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Berks County in Pennsylvania, started a Celebrations project on the GOTR Giving Platform encouraging a $45 donation in honor of her birthday. Kimberly has nearly met her goal of raising $1,200, enough to fund full scholarships for eight GOTR girls in the upcoming fall season!
Limitless Potential – Fundraise as you accomplish your own creative, fun or adventurous goal.
GOTR participant, Zoe, and her father, Tamir, launched a Limitless Potential fundraiser on the GOTR Giving Platform as a creative way to help other girls connect to their limitless potential. When they crossed the finish line of a Girls on the Run 5k together, the experience had a profound impact on their family. Tamir said, “I can't tell you how proud I was to cross that line with her — to see her grow in confidence and feel so much joy at her amazing accomplishment was one of those one-in-a-million moments that I will always remember.” By raising more than $500 for GOTR Capital Area in Pennsylvania, Zoe and Tamir are helping provide funds so more girls can also unleash their limitless potential.
Girl Power – Raise funds for Girls on the Run without a special event. Simply set up your page and ask friends and family to help empower GOTR girls.
Kathy Capwell had a moving experience at her first 5k with her kids, who encouraged and supported her along the whole course. “Now I have an opportunity to give encouragement to someone else,” she says. By participating as a running buddy at a Girls on the Run New Jersey North 5k and setting up a Girl Power project to raise funds for the council, Kathy was able to give back in two important ways at once.
